Gunsmithing Another Savage DBM Question

I saw a thread a while back about making a "New" magazine for the Savage 10.

Got me to thinking. I have a FP10 in 308 so why can't some one come up with bottom metal that would take a DPMS or AR style magazine? I already have a bunch of those. They are readily available so why can't they be used on the staggered feed Savage?

My Savage is the center feed one but I'd go look for a staggered feed if the AR mags would work.

I hate to go spend hundreds of dollars on AI maqs when I have a bunch of 308 magazines laying around

Bolt Size is the main Issue... would have to Mod the Mags.

Alpha Mags And CDI Bottom Metal Is the Proven way to go with .308 size cases. I have not messed with the .223.

I'm most likely going to go with the CDI bottom metal on my FP10 but I was just thinking it would be nice to use the magazines I have.

which one has the bigger bolt? Is the difference in length or diameter?

I'd go look but I'm not at home.
