Would love to have an Anschutz trigger like Tubb has on his rifle, I like 2 stage triggers. Question is, how hard are they to mount on a 700 type action and where can I get them from? Thanks.

Ill have to look into that EXtreme trigger, hope its as good as the 5018 Trigger, I really liked it when I had that 54MS. Thanks guys!

If you want it right, I can put a G/E FT300 2 stage on a Tubb gun. I've done 5 this way to date.

The 5018/5022 is nice. Problem is they aren't really meant for centerfire guns. High spring loading on the fire control transfers to alot of sear pressure. This can make the trigger fussy to tune. Here is where the Grunig shines. Its meant for CF out of the box. Look at any recent full throttle palma build I've done and you'll find one there.

I've been making all STEEL annie adapters (unlike the Briley) that DON'T destroy a $350 trigger for over 10 years. I started this trade in SB, Highpower ATC, and Palma.

Good luck regardless of what you do.

Thanks Chad, Ill probably go with the X-Treme triggers and Im really liking Tom's Ti receivers, too!! Ever handle one of those? Can you think of a better receiver for my project?

I have a matching pair of Rem 700 SAs I had machined to accept bolt up Anschutz triggers quite a few years ago. Once converted there is no going back. While I have no regrets about doing it at the time I would not do it again because there are so many superb drop in Rem pattern triggers available today.

I was told that the 5018 aluminum triggers would not hold up to the recoil , I really like my Annie trigger also , but I also enjoy my XTSP triggers

I'll just toss this out there and derail this into a mess...

Why not any of the 100 different options meant for a 700?

There's plenty of 2 stage designs. How many have you tried?

I once thought anything more than a timney was a waste, until I found bix & andy. Now I have one in every 700 I own, with a straight blade trigger shoe and 14oz pull.

This is a necro thread from over a decade ago.

I've done this conversion to quite a few actions over the years. It hasn't been my experience that recoil is the issue. If you look at an exploded view of the 5018, 5022, etc there's a piece called the "transfer bar." It is the lever that loads against the cocking piece of the striker assembly and the trigger sear. It's a lot of spring pressure for that little cast part (that is case hardened to something absurd like volcanic glass) and the 2mm pin that retains it. If you overload the sear, the 2nd stage feels like mush, and it will not reset the 1st stage unless you recock the bolt. (DANGEROUS!)

The trick for this setup to work well is adding a 2nd link between the cocking piece and the transfer bar. Something snorty that'll tolerate the abuse simultaneous to applying a lighter load to the trigger assembly. When done correctly, it's pure %$#@*(^ magic.
