I recently bought a cz 750 and have been messing around with it a bit. Stock is kinda like an HS Precision, barrel is a heavy MTU/M24 type contour at 26" with a threaded brake, trigger is nice, action is a mauser so it has its ups and downs, mags are double stack and rock in like an AK. First time I shot it the thing was all over the place so I took it out of the stock and nope, no pillars, no bedding, front recoil lug goes in a slot in the stock that's larger than the lug so it was flopping around. Filled it with epoxy, torqued the screws and tried again, now it seems to shoot under MOA so I guess a proper pillar bedding job is next.

Anyone else have one of these things? I've only seen a couple of them over the last ten years so they can't be that common.

I have the CZ 557 UCS, have not been able to get out to the range with it yet due to dogshit weather the past few weeks. It is in a Manners carbon fiber composite stock. When I first got it I had to send it back to them in Kansas because the barrel was not seated in the barrel channel correctly. It was pressing into the forearm of the stock so prevented it from a true free float. CZ was very prompt about fixing the issue, and paid for my shipping. I’m very interested in purchasing a CZ 750. Pretty surprised you found no pillars or bedding in the rifle. Makes me wonder how mine is going to preform.

You could always yank it out of the stock and check to see if it's been glassed in etc. From what I understand those ones should be glass bedded in that mcmillan or manners stock they come with.

Not sure I'd recommend a CZ 750 when you can save your pennies and get a Sako TRG which is better in every way, although I think that this CZ will be quite good once I have my smith do a full pillar and glass bedding job & then I'll add some sling attachments (it has no QD type shit from the factory, just a rail up front for bipod). In other words do the stuff that the Czechs should've done from day one.

Thanks for the advice. The 557 UCS came with the quick detach sling adapters on the Manners. As much as I’ve read on the TRG you certainly swayed me more towards that route. One thing I can say about this rifle is the trigger is lights out. Doing dry fire drills with it has been a pleasure.
