Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

It looks a little bulky and I'm not sure about the mounting system being on sort of a cantilever type. I guess that I'll just have to order one and give a proper review.

Pico,

Man I am getting one of those bipods within 2 weeks to T&E.

Dave the owner showed me the bipod at Shot Show and it is what every big caliber shooter has been looking for. Yes it looks bulky but honestly it is very light compared to how heavy it looks.

Thanks

Later ,

I'm very curious to have your opinion after you'll be able to T&E it but if it is lighter than it looks , well , that's a very good point .

One of my biggest concerns is in its mounting system , will it be possible to mount the MUNS in front of the day scope with this bipod mounted on the same rail ?

PP,

I have the prototype bipod in hand as of today!!

Will get initial thoughts/comments/complaints up shortly. I will get pics of it installed on couple rifle systems as well as some T&E pics/videos.

Thanks

Good Day

Just figured I would show a few photos of LR Accuracys' prototype bipod. NOTE: the production run will have few modifications to include adjustable length legs, different leg removal design, lighter weight, etc etc..cannot give away all the details smile

The lever on the right side locks the rotation cam into solid position. So I can put 1 leg up on higher piece of ground and still rotate the rifle to level inside the cam collar. You can mount on any rail whether be top or bottom.

Thanks

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

Good Day Guys,

Well I went out shooting this past Saturday to begin my initial T&E of the LR Accuracy Bipod. As previously mentioned this is a prototype model and the production model will have several key feature changes that you will see addressed below.

First of the Pros of the bipod:
Super Wide Stance
Rifle balances perfectly either mounted under of over barrel. Either way the rifle still has ability to rotate and balance on the pivot.
Ability to lock the pivot rotation so the rifle doesn't move.
Ability to rotate the rifle sideways to change magazine then rotate rifle back and damn near never come off target.
Ability to put legs at 45deg angle to get rifle low to ground to reduce rifle and shooters signature.
While firing even the 338LM the recoil characteristics and motion of rifle we perfect. Rifle gently slides straight back.
Ability to rotate the rifle so shooter can fire from a better covered position yet scope and barrel able to peak out around the cover. No more high profile peak over the cover to shoot.

Now onto the Cons of the bipod:
Delrin feet need to have rubber coating---Taken care of on Production Model
Legs need to adjust for more height control--Taken care of on Production Model.
For a little rifle the bipod is slightly overkill in size and weight BUT I knew it was designed for the bigger systems from the get go so I still like it on the lil gun. Production model is going to be right under 2lbs.
Need easier way to remove feet--Taken care of on Production Model

So comparing the pros and cons I really really like this bipod system.

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

I think it'd be around $ 450,00 and , from what I see and from Later report , it'll worth 100% its price .

Now we have just to wait for the ETA on the shelves .

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

Hi there folks. Just spoke with David on this and am looking to buy one. One question for those of you that run it on the DTA SRS. I have a .338 kit and a .308 kit (without muzzle brake). If running the .308 kit will the bipod take a lot of heat/abuse from the blast? Would I need a barrell extension or muzzle brake or do you think it would work fine with the .308 barrell with no mods.

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

Not sure about the practicality of that rig based purely on size alone. In a bad situation I'd want to spend as little time as possible lying next to a 15+ gallon tank of liquid burnmefreakinalive while being shot at so I personally don't quite see the value of that behometh on the end of my barrell.

That said, I could easily see such a thing on a .50 BMG where the weight factor is already moot. I'll surely give it an "A" for innovation though and may change my mind after seeing one.

I was recently looking for a good bipod after being tired of the flimsy/wobbly Harris units so I picked up a GG&G. Haven't shot it yet but it's rock solid, light, and extremely well built compared to the Harris units.

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

Later, I have to say that standing on that stick is absolutely impressive. You just don't do that shit unless you believe in your gear. Somehow I doubt the ubiquitous Harris bipod would take that test. Fine job.

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

Hell, a good wind can can distort a Harris. I wouldn't be too concerned about the bipod holding his weight...I'd be worried about distorting the receiver.

It mounts on rail.

Hey Lt.
I don't have anything very long unless I do believe in it 200%..from the bipod, rifle, scope, etc

Update:
I shot the Desert Tactical Arms "HTI" model rifle yesterday with this bipod and I will say that it is by FAR the best bipod ever made for the big guns IMO. I don't have field pictures of it in use but I will get some pics today.

Thanks

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bipod ?

hey fellas,

just thinking ,

how do you think this would run on a barrett 98 bravo , ive got one with the 27 inch barrell, is it mountable?

EDIT: spoke to dave , said he's going to have a look at putting one on a barrett soon.

Anthony,

It attaches to the picatinny rail so I see no reason why it should not run fine.

I will have 2 new versions in a couple weeks that have changes made to them that will make it an even better bipod.

Thanks

Re: Any feedback on LRAccuracy sniper's choice bip

I really like the bipod on the HTI, but it is hugely overkill on the SRS, really heavy and bulky. Word is the next models will be less bulky and lighter weight with extendible legs. I would like to see a much smaller version for standard rifles that has the ability to slide back and forth down the bottom picitanny rail.
