Any Ideas on Value of Keuffel & Esser Transit

I was given a set of old (dunno how old) Transits and Engineers level still in the original wood boxes. These thinks are stout and heavy. I also got the tripods with them but they have been painted but I don't know if thats the way they came or not. I figured that sence we have such a hi percapita of smart people on here, maybe someone would know more about these and who I would call to see about a value.

Next pic is a engineers level (I think) and other than a patent #, I can't find any ID on it.

Flyboy, interesting stuff. If I could, I'd be buying them off you. They don't make tools like that anymore, it seems.
