April 2nd is the next bolt gun match, the last sat in feb there is a AR match. </div></div>

Just to clarify, I believe the match at Creekside the end of Feb is an AR Platform Sniper match, not a carbine/cqb type match.

Re: Any match's in Georgia?

Any others around Ft. Benning?
Are there any good places to look online or key words to search for?
I am looking around for good local (driving) tactical long range competitions now.

Re: Any match's in Georgia?

There will be an AR15, open sight only comp at Fort Gordon's sportsman complex 26 March 11. Payment is cash only and will be 40 without food and 45 with food. I am being told its supposed to be like a short range marksmanship course of fire targets may not exceed 50 yards. POC is David McCoy at the following: http://www.fortgordon.com/sports_and_recreation/outdoor_recreation_program.php#shooting Will know more info next thursday.

Re: Any match's in Georgia?

Has anyone shot in the matches at gun site hills near athens? I have been over there just to shoot but I would like to compete in some matches. I am shooting a semi auto .308 ar that I would like to shoot, but I don't know if the chief would let me compete with that.

PM, Ed Baker, I believe he's shot some over there.
My sidekick and I plan on shooting a few there this year.

Re: Any match's in Georgia?

There is a sniper challenge at Creekside Firing Range this Saturday 4-2-11. Open to any calibers up to 300 win mag. Round count will be 50-60. A spotter will come in handy but if you don't have one the match director will partner you with someone. Always a lot of fun and a good group of shooters.

Re: Any match's in Georgia?

I will have to second again what was said about Creekside....a great bunch of guys to shoot with and it will be challenging. I wish I could make the this week, but my little girls birthday takes first place.

Re: Any match's in Georgia?

Looks like I am going to be able to make the match at creekside tomorrow.

However, I have never shot any long range matches and I'm not sure what to expect. I have shot my rifle out to 650yds gettting good zero's, but will this match be something a first timer will enjoy?

Neither myself nor the spotter I am bringing along are experienced in the type of shooting I expect tomorrow.
