I am trying to figure out a logarithmic curve equation to calculate wind drift at different angles. anyone have any experience with this? I noted that sniper central had wind constants standardized in meters and i was able to converty those constants to yards and change the moa into .10 mil adjustments, but thats a wind that is constant at 90 degrees. as we all know we dont live in a walgreens world where the wind is constant at a full value. Thus the question, anybody know the math to change wind into MOA?

0811mayes,

Math-centric shooters will enjoy the gem "Ballstics: Theory and Design of Guns and Ammunition" by Donald E. Carlucci and Sidney S. Jacobson (ref: http://books.google.com/books?id=pX9Tzs7...p;q&f=false).

Ch 8.3 (p. 211) derives the wind effects on trajectories. A solid explanation of the PHYSICS and then the MATH (vectors/scalars, derivative/integral calculus). Sweet!

The e-version on GoogleBooks is missing many sections and 'massive' pages. Scroll through the online version and you'll see that it's incomplete. I'll be adding this gem to my hard-copy library
