Im not sure why it wouldnt fit seeing as the j-lock is on the firing pin shroud. but i would definatly recomend getting rid of that j-lock shroud, its killing the rifles potential for accuracy

I don't know who "it" is (you might put up a link to where you saw that info), but your Long-action 300 Ultra Mag will NOT fit in a standard short action HS Precision M24 stock. Of course, that has nothing to do with the J-lock.
If you make certain you are looking at the Long Action M24 stock, you should be fine.

Fitting the stock has nothing to do with the J-Lock. Some HS stocks are not fully cut to allow the X-Mark trigger to work without the stock without a little lathe or Dremal work to allow the safety to clear the stock.
