I'm having a .260 built as soon as my KMW Sentinel arrives any day now. I purchased a 31" 1-8 twist barrel from Bruno's only because they had it in stock with the profile and twist that I wanted without having to wait. I know shorter barrels are all the rage here and some consider longer barrels "pimping" the game around here. It just feels wrong to chop that much off of a fresh barrel blank. Had I purchased a 28" barrel I wouldn't be having this discussion. I'd finish it at 26" and be down with it. I'd like to leave some room to set the barrel back in the future. At the very least I'd like to finish it at 27". I've just never seen a 27" .260 before.

you really need to ask yourself what the intended use for it is and answer it honestly. if you know what the job is, you can choose the best tool to accomplish it.
