Any reason not to go with the kestrel 5700?

So my current set up is a kestrel 2500, and the applied ballistics app on my phone. I would like to take my phone out of the equation. I would also like to be able to keep info for atleast 3 rifles. Is the 5700 the way to go? Is there something better? Any thing comparable I should look at?

I don't know if it's better, but I love my Garmin 701 AB

Thats something I was considering too. I currently have a 401 I use for work and a fenix3. No complaints with their products at all. But the idea of weather being incorporated was sounding pretty good

only reason is if you went with a foretrex 701. I absolutely love the unit but both are good choices.

Since you are wanting to take your phone out of the equation the answer to your question is absolutely YES the 5700 is the way to go. NO there is nothing better currently on the market IMO.
