I'm just wondering if there is some sort of unseen pitfall with rethreading a stock TRG 42 in 300 wm from metric threads to 5/8x24?

What I've researched here says there isn't, but a " please don't do it" response to a request for info from a supplier of TRG accessories has me wondering. It is just threads right?

If you are already set up for 5/8 muzzle devices then go ahead. However if you are not then the 18X1 are IMO a better thread. The 18X1 is larger in diameter and more thread engagement there for stronger. I just dont see why we use a heavier profile barrels for their rigidity then attach a suppressor with such a small shank. Just my thoughts.
