Any Smiths have a Surgeon 591R WSM action in stock?

I've been getting together the parts to do a 7wsm build. So far I have a Bartlien 1/8.7 twist barrel and a Manners TF1 stock inlet for a Surgeon action.

I ordered my action from Surgeon about 5 months ago after they quoted me 8 months. I called today and they said several people are still ahead of me and that they don't have an eta now.

I'm wondering if there are any well respected smiths who have one of these actions in stock that have put together a great shooting 7wsm.

So far I've called GAP and APA and neither have them in stock.

Any other suggestions on who I might be able to buy this action from or a smith that would have the action and can complete a build for me?

Already placed an order 5 months ago. I was told 8 months then and yesterday they told me now they don't have an eta other then maybe at the years end.

I did just find a great deal on another 7wsm though, which will be more of a bench gun while the Surgeon is going to be my hunting rifle.

You still here lookin for that action? I told you just sell me that barrel lol. Anyway i got mine rem SA wsm receiver and krieger 1:8.75 HV 31" from brunos.amy brunos brunos email me this morning order will be ship monday.i wanted diff receiver too but i already have 2.0 aics been seating inside safe for a while now.so i went with rem.brunos still one more rem wsm left..good luck on the hunt of that receiver

I think what bward was trying to tell you is that about the only way to get a surgeon action anymore is to have surgeon build the rifle. They are only selling actions that they have left over from building their in house rifles. They aren't producing actions just to sell anymore.

Gotcha, I'm a little slow today. Well I hope they plan on completing my order after I already got the stock. I guess I could see if they would be willing to put it together with my stock and barrel.

bjay, it looks like your well on your way and don't need mine. Here's the specs for one I just committed too:

Skunkworks L/A
Obermeyer 27" 8.4 twist barrel
Manners T5 w/mini chasis, it is bedded
2 flush cups left, one right
Timney trigger
Dual bipod studs

Only 150 rounds through it.
