7lb 11oz. Pic looks like a three pound fish with a great big eyeball. One disadvantage of fishing alone.

Same problem here.
I didn't get to fish once last year I was so busy.
Worked a bit over 3,200 hours last year.
I love fishing for bass In early spring just after they wake up.
I normally fly fish for everything but I prefer standard tackle for bass.
Carolina rigs or plugs mostly.

I normally Texas rig a worm. I never have gotten used to Carolina rig. I have swapped to crappie fishing right now though because I have tendonitis in my elbow from fishing too much. Should be back to bass fishing in a week or two.

Nice!! I would love to catch a boatload of those.

I've never heard of a horny toad. Is it a top water or crankbait? That is a really nice fish.

It is a plastic top water bait. Rig it with a big wide gap worm hook and it is weedless. You can pretty much run it through anything. It is a great bait. You will get a lot of strikes but you also miss a lot of fish. They hammer it when they hit it though.

Thanks. I'll look for em next time I'm in town.

On the water ever Saturday for them lake rats until hunting season starts that is. Been dropping the hammer on em via Reactive Innovations 7" flirt on a shakey head. A few on their "Kinky Beaver". Numerous Saturdays of 20+ into the boat. Lost some monsters at the boat.

Those are some nice bass! I love to fish, just been busy this year, but headed out on our houseboat on Lake Powell in a couple weeks. I can fish for 2 weeks with no phone or email to deal with! Hell, I might kill a few brain cells while I'm at it!

Cheers,

George

Hey George, I believe killing brain cells while fishing is mandatory around here. If not, you at least have to slap em around a little.
