I've got 200 of these on the way to try in a remington with factory 24" SS barrel. I've got hornady brass and a bunch of different primers but don't have suitable powder yet. Does anybody have data or starting points with this bullet in 243? My first choice for powder is H1000 and H4350 but because of the shortage I'm open to others so all data would be appreciated. I do need to stick with a non temp sensitive powder since I'll be using this load for yotes, groundhogs, and some targets in the summer as well as deer in the fall. Barrel life isn't too important, it just needs to get me through deer season next year before needing a rebarrel.

I'm loading Berger VLD hunting at 2.82 OAL. I'm getting good groups with h1000 and magnum primers. My current load is 47.3gr of H1000.

What rifle? Do you know your jump? I almost went with them but I've had issues in the past with VLD's when I couldn't get them at or near the lands.

I run a full case of H4831SC with Win. brass...gettin 3150 and fantastic accuracy. I'm at 1800' ASL.

What primer are you running with the 4831? How does temp seem to be? Is the case cool to the touch after firing? I assume classic hunter, not VLD? How far off the lands are you running them?

CCI 200's, cool case...I run the vld mainly but had good results with the hunter also...without looking at my data, i'm thinkin they're both around 20 thou. off.

My jump is about .06. My rifle is a 700 SPS Varmint 9 1/8" twist. I cant get them near the lands bc what I have them at is the longest i can have an run them in my factory mag.

Wow you must have gotten a good chamber. I haven't measured the distance to the lands in mine yet but if mine is like yours with the longer bearing surface on the classic hunter I may be able to get them to the lands if need be. Maybe I should try the VLD's after all.

I will definitely put H4831 on my list of powder choices then. I honestly hadn't even thought about it but it's probably optimal for 95gr bullets in 243.
