Anybody shooting Berger 300gr OTM in 338 RUM?

I'm trying to get a heads up on seating depth before my bullets arrive. Also, anyone shooting these with Retumbo and a 26" barrel? Trying to find a good baseline to work from for accuracy in my rifle.

I did some experimentation with some 300 Berger's in my .338 RUM. Despite the high BC, I couldn't get the velocity high enough to shoot out to the distance I was trying to achieve effectively and still load them into the magazine. I was using H1000 though.

My COAL limit was 3.75" though so if your COAL limit is beyond that or you don't mind single feeding them, you may be OK.

In my experience, the 250 gr Berger may be better suited for your cartridges velocity capabilities.

I usually use 250 gamekings, I single feed them anyway because the magazine seems to want to shear the lead tip off while feeding, even though they fit the mag fine. I may do some smithing on that later.

I realize this is OLD, but what length barrel did you have and what velocity did you get with the 300s at 3.75"? I'm debating the same set-up. Seeing if its worth it for a rum or if I should just do a 300 win instead. The mags are interchangeable.
