I think I'm like the only gamer on Earth who doesn't use Steam. They definitely do cater a lot to indie games hence why you see so much crazy shit there.
I like steam, but origin has finally gotten most of their crap straightened out, not all. Updates are still started by you as opposed to steam's autodownload. Steam's interface is easier. Origin just has the games I play.
They clarified their policy on what is and is not allowed on steam. The rules are if it is not illegal, you can upload it. One employee was quoted as saying:
