just curious if anyone has ever suppressed an hk 91, are there any ejection/extraction problems, would like any information from experienced parties I thread a psg1 clone to suppress it, as I don't believe I have ever seen a suppressed hk 91 thanks, Joe

Re: anyone ever suppress an hk 91????

I have one. I use an AAC 762SD on it, and I really like it. I have had 0 function problems. I have put everything from cheap Wolf and Silver Bear, to Federal Match, to my precision reloads I use in my Remington 700 LTR. The blow back is not bad at all. I would say it is very comparable to shooting my buddy's AR-10 suppressed. Go for it!

The only complaint I have is that it makes the gun absolutely filthy. HK 91's are a PITA to clean normally and it makes it that much worse. However this is a problem with any gun you shoot suppressed, so that should not surprise you. I will say that I've gone 200 rounds shooting suppressed and I did not have one jam.

They will still require ear protection. They are not as quiet as other platforms. We have shot a buddies HK91 with a 762SD on semi and FA. It was LOUD even with the can on it. IMHO

Re: anyone ever suppress an hk 91????

I do not like it bacause of the blowback, and the fact that running it suppressed it fails to eject occasionally, but...... I haven't installed a smith enterprises gas plug yet either

Re: anyone ever suppress an hk 91????

iam going to be suppressing my msg90 clone, when i will get and what i will get is another story.

I have considered every thing from the coastal ltr can all the way to the 762sd that aac makes and then i though about them all over again.

allot of people say they are loud or they dont shoot well or this or that, i have no first hand experience, but i did see a video at a gun shop of them shooting on suppressed how ever i wasnt satisfied, but will still suppress the rifle

Re: anyone ever suppress an hk 91????

im fixing to suppress a psg1 clone, it has the same basic operating action as an mp5 and I know that they suppress them very reliably and they are whisper quiet, from what I have read here there doesn't seem to be any problems associated as there are with the m1a when the are suppressed other than the fact I keep hearing they are kinda LOUD

To my ear it sounds identical to an AR-10. My M1a sounds louder to me because of how the breach operates compared to an AR-10 and an HK-91. In terms of comfort level of my suppressed guns, I would rank them as follows:

1. Remington LTR
2. POF 415
3. HK 91
4. M1a

Like I said before, I have put 200 rounds through my suppressed HK 91 at one range session and I had zero failures. It is still loud due to the sonic crack, but no more so than my POF or my LTR.

Re: anyone ever suppress an hk 91????

I do not have and I have not shot a 91 supp. But I do run a MP5/.40 with a KAC Navy Supp. and it functions flawlessly on full auto, semi or burst. Yes it will be very dirty after firing but its damn quite. Only thing you hear on it is the bolt cycle and the brass hitting the ground on hard surfaces.

Debatable. It is a little louder than a 22 rifle. I don't use hearing protection but I could see how people would want it. The sonic crack from 223 and 308 rounds is very significant. My ears don't ring when I shoot it. Ymmv.
