I have a Sako 75 Greywolf in 308 Winchester that is just laying around. I also have an extra Rock barrel in 308, fluted M24 contour. Has anyone here used a Sako 75 action in a long range rig and how did it turn out? What stock would you suggest?

I shoot a stock Sako 75 varmint stainless laminated with fluted barrel. The 75 is a good action. No alloy or plastic parts. I think it's better and more practical than the Tikka T3.

I've ordered this stock, McM Sako 75 A5:

The Sako 75 makes a great action to build on - Jered Joplin built me a .300 Win Mag on a Sako 75.

It was one of the most accurate/consistent rifles I have shot, then I sold it like a dumb ass!!

The 75 is an awesome base action, good trigger, Great DBM, smooth and accurate action and barrel out of the box. A mate built a 308 range gun in a SS varmint action, using a 26in MTU contour hart barrel in a McMillan A5. The thing is a laser.

We both have 75 varmints 308's chopped to 20in and fluted in McMillan sako varmint stocks as hunting rigs, my matching 223 rig is still being built.

If you or know someone with talent behind a mill, the sako action, being a flat bottom and double stack DBM feed lends itself well to feeding from AI AW mags. A guy over here recently built a chassis for one based around the AICS skins and the AW mags, ala Sako 75/85 AICS. Looks and works great, would just take some machine skills.

Sounds like a great project mate. Can't wait to see it.

The Sako 75 action is a dangerous action to have around and may spontaneously explode. Send it to me along with $50 and I will "dispose" of it properly.

All kidding aside I am not Sako has ever made a subpar action.
