Anyone familar with the 6.5 Rem Magnum

A friend dropped off a 6.5 Rem magnum for me to develop a load for hunting. Compared to a 6.5 x 47 Lapua that I shoot, this case is a horse, perfect for LR banging, and he has a ton of brass for it.
Any thoughts on it, or loads for one would be welcome. Looks to hold about 58gr of IMR 4064, about on par with a 6.5x284, it has to have potential, other than being a belted mag.

I shoot an AI version.
I use H 1000 for fire forming using 120's, 140's should do fine also.
What bullet are you shooting?

We bought some Hornady 140 SST's, to hunt with. But if I build a gun it would be a 140 Berger hybrid. What velocities do you get?

I shoot 139-142 31-3200 fps.
I've shot the 142's out to 1791 and 120 Cauterucio VLD's out to 1600.

No he doesn't post. His gun is a Rem 600, first time I've ever heard of or seen one, looks like a kicking little bugger!
As for velocity, that's what I thought this case should push a 140, 3150 or so. I need to compare it to a 284 case, I think this is fatter, and can see improving it would be quite a step up.

As it stands, the case is very comparable with the 284 if not identical in capacity, AI it's in the ballpark of the 280AI which in turn is quite close the SAUM.
I like the AI case more than the SAUM case because there is less bolt thrust in the AI and the shoulder angle should make the throat last a little longer.
I've been shooting H-1000 almost exclusively and you can read about the benefits in the 6.5 SAUM GAP rifle thread.
My case just takes more forming but my performance is identical.
In load testing I got a little greedy and shot some 139 Lapuas over my Oehler at 3475.

If it's a 600 then you're looking at seating deep or lower velocities.
18.5" barrel?
I'd shoot the 110 TTSX, that case will fling them fast and deep.
