Re: Anyone get a Mosquito to run subsonics suppressed?
..
Your barrel length is 4.58" and it is a blow back. There are plenty of variables, but standard 40gr LRN .22LR should yield a velocity no greater than 945 fps. You are subsonic already.
So, this is what I read here:
<span style="font-weight: bold">"When I run a Mite suppressor on my Mosquito it is still so loud that I think I need to make it quieter. I decided to try subsonics to get it even quieter. What I found was that my auto would cycle with regular and HV rounds, but with the subsonics, it wouldn't. How can I get my Mosquito to cycle when I use sub sonic loads?"</span>
Right? Well, first. Your can's blast performance is poor. Your can cannot handle the blast signature of regular .22 to where you are satisfied. Your solution, try subsonics. You don't need subsonics to deal with the projectile signature, you need it to compensate for the blast performance of your Mite can. All you are doing is reducing the charge to reduce the blast gas volume in an attempt to compensate for a poorly performing can. Will it work? Sure, you could reduce it to 500 fps if you need/want to. Meanwhile, your auto needs the "normal" charge to cycle. With subs, your slide stalls. Tinker all you want, springs, etc. ... its your can.
Lastly, tuck this away for future reference:
