I have got a 6x24x50 viper pst on a .300 win mag 700 Police with a badger break on it and It is ACCURATE. I normally atleast cloverleaf at 100 yards if not one hole it but lately I noticed my groups were getting worse and worse. I shoot the same bullet with the same oal and the same powder ect... Anyways I checked the torque on the base screws ect... Everything was tight and right. shot again same damn thing. 3 to 4" groups. Then I thought about it and put my Mark 4 on it and bore sighted it and presto! My old gun was back to shooting one hole groups. Has anyone had this happen with a Vortex??? It's not been officially verified by Vortex but I knwo that the reticle is moving. Funny thing is I have a muzzle break on it and it kicks less than my GAP .308 So why in the hell would it be doing that?

kind of hoping to see a broken reticle pic, especially a etched glass one. Just sounds like it won't hold zero, call vortex and they will take care of you.

From what you're describing, it sounds like there could be a problem with the scope. I have a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x mil/mil FFP on my .300 WSM and haven't had any problems with it. It's shooting 190 grain Berger VLD's being pushed pretty hard, and doesn't have a break. I've got right at 300 rounds down the pipe since I've put the scope on, and so far haven't had any issues with it not holding zero or shooting how it did before. You definitely may have a problem with the scope. have you given them a call yet?

I can tell exactly what is wrong with it.
It is a mechanical device and it failed.
Most likely the spring that provides tension on the erector assembly.

It sucks, but it is what it is.

I just got one and when it was shipped to me something went wrong? I called Vortex and they said "send it in and we will fix it or replace it" No questions asked!
Then Scott from Vortex picked up on my post and PM'ed me got me name and is handling it for me.
Top shelf company!! Give them a call.

you can look at the features this company offers and tell they listen to their customers. vortex is top notch and so is their glass

Re: anyone had broken reticle with vortex pst?

I have two Vortex riflescopes, an older Viper 6.5-20x44 and a Razor HD 5-20x50, as well as 2 Vortex spotting scopes, a Skyline 80 20-60x80 and a Viper HD 20-60x80. They have an outstanding product and their customer service and warranty are second to none. The Razor line is some impressive glass to say the least.

As everyone else said, they will make it right. They are great people to deal with.

I got in touch With vortex. Went through standard questions. They told me to ship it back and it would be taken care no matter what the problem is. Hat's off to the folks there. Great company.
