Anyone have an IOR binocular?

I'm looking for information on these IOR 10x25mm binoculars.

I'd like to know if the glass is as good as their scopes, and what exactly the range-finding reticle looks like. Liberty Optics doesn't seem to carry them. I wonder if that is a bad sign.

Meopta Meostar 10x50 is my recommendation for the $$. As clear as my friend's Swaros (in general) for less than half the money. I say "in general" because the edge clarity of the swaros is better than the Meopta.

If 10x50 is too big, they make all the way down to 7x42. I'm personally not a huge fan of extremely small objective diameters in binos...I like a small obj in a scope, though.

Ooops...didn't see that they had a built in rangefinder. Disregard last post if that is a requirement since the Meopta doesn' thave rangefinder option.

The 7X one I saw had some vertical lines and then horizontal hashmarks with numbers to represent range. I don't know if that's the same thing as the 10X model though. The glass is good, it's IOR. You can get them without the rangefinder if you want to.

Also consider the steiner predator pro, it's 150-200 for a 10x26 model and they are good as well (at least I thought so).

there 7x40 are nice but heavy , the model I really wanted & thought was really good set was the 8x30 with reticle ( this was the ( PORRO prism model ) , and when I was about to buy one , they stopped making IT , brillant , happens all the time , as soon as someone makes a nice piece of kit , they stop making it .

Seems like all the higher end optics are going roof prism. This might be an uneducated generalization, but I stay away from porro and try to match specs with the higher end optics when taking the "best bang for my buck" approach.

With the advent of HD, ED or any of the newer "Super" glasses the price/performance ratio that used to favor porro's has diminished quite a bit. The one thing roof's will always have trouble matching is the nice 3D effect that results from having the objectives farther apart. IOR's are an excellent example of this.

Roof prisms are about being compact & lite , I think the porro is actually better opps , they are easier to make good any way .

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between a roof prism and a porro? Is a porro an in-line lens system? What is a good example of this style?

M22 Steiner/Fujinon 7x50's are Porro while M24 Fujinon 7x28's are roofs.

I had a pair they were nice but got rid of'm as they didnt fit my needs as I had wanted. The reticle is similar to the dragnov reticle with the horizontal hash's. It is also only on the one side forget which. If you want them I'd get'm without the range finding reticle. If IOR makes it Scott could most likely get it for you. Although if you can an dont mind the size and slightly higher price I'd go with the Vortex Vipers they'r awesome for the price.

Roof prism = straight line barrels

Porro prism = "Dogleg" barrels

Both designs have perceived plusses and minues, and these are the subject of debate.
