Allowing my brotha from anotha motha to use my equipment to load for his 30-06. He's shooting 168 Amax pills for deer and 155 scenars for range. We tried a 200 yard ladder test on the 168's using IMR4064 last weekend and ended up with what was basically a 3" 10 shot group. I think his gun needed cleaning because there was virtually no velocity change throughout the test.

Powders that I have on hand... IMR 4064 (preferred for hunting load due to quantity), 8208XBR, Varget, Reloader 15, Reloader 17, Benchmark.

Rifle is a bone stock Rem 710 (yes I know its junk) with I believe a 1:11 twist if I'm not mistaken. Shooting nickel plated Winchester brass for the 168's, and norma brass for the 155's.

Anyone have any useful data or experience with any combination of items above?

i have two a "managed recoil" loads:

150gr spire point
48 gr 4064
oal 3.215
trimmed to 2.490
210lr primer

180gr spire point
47 grains 4064
oal 3.305
trimmed to 2.490
210lr primer

18.5" 1:10 no chrony data, but feels like a .308
MOA 5 shot CTC groups out to 300Y - from a PUMP!

155 Scenar over 50 gn of Varget in a RP case, WLR primer, 3.298 is my 30-06 goto load. It works in both my Tikka T3 and Remington 700
The Tikka is 1:11 and the Remmy 1:10

He is gonna love this load, it is flat as all out, matches the trajectory of my 7mm Mag and 162 Amax out to around 700Y (then the 7mm takes over obviously)

Recoil is that of a 308, can shoot this one all day.

Dual purpose hunting and target, although I have not harvested an animal with this load yet, there are plenty of hunters who have. (155 Scenar and 30-06)

I usually load 50grs RE15 with 168AMAXs, very accurate! Now since I find it hard to locate RE15 Im going to try IMR4007ssc, I've got alot of RE17 and it will work, too, just haven't loaded any of it up yet.

57 gr of H-4350 with a 165-168 gr bullet. I load both bullets with the same weight and get 3/4" groups at 100 yards from my old Springfield that was "born at the same time as me".

Things I hit with it fall down.

155gr Scenar: Not much luck with Varget, best was around 48.3gr. Higher I went, larger the group sizes. Moving on to other powders next.

168gr BTHPM: Very good results with 56.3 IMR4350; limited testing with N140 with no usable results. But you have none of those powders anyhow.
