Anyone have any experience with Kenton turrets on a Leupold Vari X III by chance?

I have never used Kenton’s products, but I do have Stoney Point knobs on a 4.5-14 VariX-III and a 2-7 VX-2. They don’t have tier 1 tactical scope feel, but they work out to reasonable hunting ranges. I think the Kenton knobs are little nicer. I wish Kenton still made knobs for 1st gen Zeiss Conquest scopes; they don’t make them anymore and I need a couple. I keep scouring eBay for used ones, but I haven’t found any yet.

I recommend giving them a try if your application is hunting; if it’s competition, I would buy a new scope.

On your vari x III, is there any lash between when the knob starts moving and when the actual turret starts moving? Maybe if the little semi-circular tit to the indent in the factory turret doesnt fit exactly right? And remind me, your variX III is click not friction right?

Yes there’s a little lash or slop in it. My scopes are click adjusted; I’m not sure I would try it on a friction adjusted scope. My experience with friction adjusted scopes is you move it, shoot a shot to “seat” it, then shoot a group to see where it really adjusted to. Then set it and try to never move it again. Click is the way to go.
