Does anyone know anything about TPS rings and bases? If their not trustworthy then I'll obviously go with one of the old standbys like BO or Seekins, but if I can still get the reliability for half the price, well then..

Re: Anyone know anything about TPS Scope Rings & Bases

I have three sets of their rings and love them. Compared to Ken Farrell rings they are not as heavy but they don't need to be. I have been using K. Farrell bases and TPS rings with great results.

Re: TPS Scope Rings & Bases

I don't have any of their bases but I do have some of their rings. The quality seems to be good and I've never had any trouble with them. Just be sure to order by the measured height not "Medium", "Low" etc. For example: The TPS "TSR" medium ring has height of 1.075 from the base to the center of the ring. The Badger medium ring measures .885 from the base to the center.

I have never tried there bases either but have numerous sets of rings from TPS. They have never failed me. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. I know Donnie at Bigrivertactical.com. He's a fellow snipershider, so I would order from him.

i own a pair right now and im ready to throw them out the window. they wont hold my scope still for nuttin. all my scope does is rotate its ass off from side to side. and the screws are tight as hell

Re: TPS Scope Rings & Bases

I have only had problems with 2 brands of rings- Millet and TPS. The problem with the TPS rings was the holes were not threaded deep enough. Got a tap out of my toolbox and tapped the holes deeper. After that the rings were ok. Seekins are not that much more than TPS. I'd go with Seekins unless I was going to put it on a 22 or beater rifle. But they would almost certainly work.

I've got a TPS 20MOA base and TPS rings on my 700PSS, and love 'em. Never had a problem with 'em at all.

Re: TPS Scope Rings & Bases

I have owned numerous sets of the TPS rings and bases without any problems whatsoever . I bought them when they first came out and they were a great alternative to the more expensive options at the time . I understand that at some point they had a fair amount of problems with quality but were working on it . I think this period of time has absolutely killed them as they never fully addressed the issues they were having . During that time I met Glen Seekins and really fell in Love with the design of his rings and have since swapped all my rifles over to his rings and bases . Glen is a really down to earth guy who makes a phenomenally well thought out set of rings .

I think the only thing left from the TPS days is my picatinny rail mount on my 10-22 . They were one of the first outfits to build a rail for my beloved 10-22 and it has served me well for the last 3-4 years .
