I have this sweet vintage Redfield 3-9x40, has a foggy lense but otherwise flawless. Ironsight services these but is 8 months out. I wonder if I can take it apart and service it myself?
Re: Anyone know how to take apart a vintage Redfield?
I have never serviced a scope myself because I don't have the necessary equipment to purge the scope when finished.
I could be wrong, but I believe that if you don't purge the tube on reassembly that your lenses will just fog back up again during the next atmospheric pressure change.

You can check with ABO too. They did mine a few years ago. It took weeks, not months. They are not cheap, but I was happy with the work. http://www.abousainc.com/
