I just ordered this Savage Mark II TRR:

I was wondering if anyone know the MOA built into the base. (the version without the built in base I could not locate). This info is not on Savage's website and they do not accept email enquiries.

is this base any good, should I just remove it and repalce with a regular 20MOA base?

Since that rifle is available only in .22LR, you may safely assume that it's a flat base.

Inclined bases which are built in are a feature of rifles which may be shot to longer distances than scopes commonly have enough elevation to adjust for. For example, the early Barrett M82A1s had 60 MOA bases built in, and were commonly zeroed at 1000 yards or meters.

I seriously doubt that anyone built a .22 with that kind of shooting in mind.

not sure why you say "since it's ONLY a .22lr" seeing as one of the most popular things to do is add a 20moa rail to a .22lr.......but ok

but the TRR is a 0moa, sadly, it would have been a LOT nicer had they had the foresight to add a 20-25moa from the get go, so it's one less thing you have to buy.
