It's official. Work has died around this area due to the economy. If anyone is needing a professional welder with 23 years of experience and has been trained and exposed to more welding senarios all over this world. I'm here and willing to travel/ maybe even move. Have all my own equipment if needed. I was trained by the US Navy in High pressure welding schools and nuclear welding school. From there I welded on around 60 nuclear submarines and 50 surface ships which were nuclear, boiler and gas turbine operated. We ripped them apart and put them back together. I built up to 600 ton crane booms for Linkbelt cranes, welded stainless steel products for Hobart, authorized aluminum factory welder for Honda motorcycles, built the heavy steel framework for hotels, welded repaired boilers, steam piping and gas pipe systems for mechanical/heating/plumbing companies, weld repaired monster trenchers and replaced pockets that held carbide teeth and then hardsurfaced wear areas. And this is only the short list. Here's a funny: I've tiggedstickedarcgougedmiggedoxyedplasmadbentstraightenedbuiltmodifiedmetalandpleasedmorepeoplethenIcouldeverhopefor.
If you hear of anybody that can use my experience, give me a shout.

You missed one.
.....In a welding shop somewhere in the Navy, it read:

Times are tough these days, but a man with your skills and experience will land on his feet. Good luck, TSR, and if I hear about any opportunities, I'll pass them your way.

Re: Anyone need a high speed low drag advanced welder?

I may have some work for you this Fall. I am a Project Manager / Supt. for a boiler repair company out of N. Georgia, but I work almost exclusively in KY. I have projects coming up in October at EW Brown (Harrodsburg), Ghent Station (Ghent), and Trimble Co. (Bedford). PM me if you are interested. The way things have been, I stay manned-up, but I can always make room for a HS-LD type

My father in-law is an old school welder, been doing it for decades. There are a ton of jobs in CT, you say you are willing to travel, but Ct is probably too far. Good luck

Thanks for all the responses. All PM's responded to. This site and the shooters are a great set of people with diverse backgrounds and are just a pleasure to deal with.
Hats off to LowLight and the Mods for a great site.
I have met some great friends on this site and look forward to meeting more.
You have a friend in Central Ky.

Hey give me a call. We are in Lexington and own a large equipment repair shop that does all the repair work for our machinery. We might have a space for you. Have you ever thought about teaching? BCTCS vocational school might be looking to hire. As far as I know they have one teacher....

I have thought about teaching as long as the pay was good and I didn't have to drive three hours a day. About 10 years ago CKTC hired me to teach the Toyota welders up at Georgetown. They told me they would need me for a short class and it would be like two days a week for about a month. When I showed up to teach they welcomed me with open arms and everything was going smoothly for about a day or two and everyone was happy with what I was bringing to the program and then they said I was scheduled to work 5 days a week and had non stop classes for about a year and then maybe more after that..... CKTC (Central Kentucky Technical College) kinda messed everything up. I was very clear with them before I started, but I think they were doing whatever it took to give Toyota a teacher. I had to back out because of a schedule that conflicted with their requirements and lack of communication on their part. Pay was so-so ($300 per day but travel was 3 hours a day and at that time I was driving a big block (gas) welding truck. Most Technical colleges are now requiring an ascociates degree for their teachers. I have like 60 hours of college credits but I don't have an actual degree. I'm a master of "school of hard knocks though" Hahahhahaha
Adam. I don't have your phone # any more. And If you want to find out about my welding skills ask Rex Tyson (Class 3 dealer)from Ken Tyson Plumbing /Mechanical. I've welded a crap load of gas piping for He and and his dad and welded alot on their boiler jobs and even tig welded on an HK SBR (I think thats what it was)kit job for Rex personally.
Thanks for the response.
