I just got a spinning bike for basement workouts. Do any of know of any DVD sets available? I done quite a few of these spinning classes at the gym. They are super fun and very effective at getting the most out of your workouts.

Have spun in a gym, never at home to DVD.

Here's what I'd do if I were you, go to Amazon.com and type in spinning DVD to the search box, I'm sure there are plenty of options and the review system on Amazon is usually very good at helping pick the best one. I don't buy anything from Amazon that is less than 4 stars.

Re: anyone on the hide into spinning workouts?

I did triathalons for years. Did more than my share of 100 mile bike (road) races. Then, my friend took me to a spinning class at his gym (I was bored and he didn't want to go alone). I have never hurt so much in my life. Not to mention that I got beat out by a bunch of 90lbs girls. I just couldn't keep up. Spinning is a different beast altogether. I just couldn't get into it. Have fun with that crap. There are only so many times I am going to get showed up by some little girls....so, I ain't going back.

I did a spin class a few days ago with my fiance (her idea, she does them all the time). I am preparing for a police academy so I thought sure why not. Big mistake. I was smoked, not to mention the hemorrhoid I got from the bike seat. And yeah, getting beat by a bunch of girls isn't fun either. Thanks, I'll stick to the treadmill and running outside.

Re: anyone on the hide into spinning workouts?

I just started two weeks ago. I spin 3 times a week for 1 hour sessions at the gym. Its a great way to burn off 1000 calories in an hour. I only do this as supplement to my running.

I dont enjoy the music they play for the class, but after 15 minutes I stop caring.

Re: anyone on the hide into spinning workouts?

Since I live in a resort town where it snows about twice a century, I just go ride my bike on the road. I ride right past a fitness center where there are people exercising indoors.

I had a wind trainer back when I was doing triathlons and lived in a place where riding a bicycle on the road was virtual suicide.

It can be great exercise, if you can figure out a way to beat the boredom.

I thought the crappy music was just in the class I took. Glad to hear I am not alone...

You missed the whole point. The ladies are inside bending over on small seats which solves your first and second points. I did a lot of spin classes with the wife they were fun but the constant stand up sit down hurt my back a little too much to warrant doing long term.
