Re: Anyone put a Can on a TRP Operator?

It's still giving me a Goddamn headache though.

People post all the time about Blank vs. 1911 Well, here's a good answer to that. Sure the 1911s are great but they are like F**king hot rods. Everything has to be custom done or fit or made for the damn things..
Glock-drop in barrel
Sig-drop in barrel
HK- comes with it in the first place but if not... drop in barrel
1911- custom order, take to gunsmith and have it fit.. sh*t

Yes . I used a Jarvis extended-and-threaded bull-barrel . There has been some discussion about messing up the lugs doing it this way . Some people use a standard threaded barrel and bushing , instead . I use an SWR HEMS2 . The whole package is kind of heavy , but it recoils like a .22 ...

I used a barrel from EFK Fire Dragon. These days though, I recommend Storm Lake, due to the vastly superior customer service and shorter delivery times.

FWIW, I talked to a number of barrel makers at the time, and most of them did NOT recommend a threaded bull barrel. Apparently the weight of the silencer can put a lot of stress on the lower lugs and cause them to fail. I used a bushing with this setup before I traded it.

A drop in barrel is never going to have the fit that a properly gunsmith fitted barrel is.

there are "drop in" or something very close to that available for 1911s, but you're way better off getting one fitted.

Furthermore, there is only one manufacturer of Sigs, Glocks, and HKs, and they only need to feed from one kind of magazine, etc. 1911s aren't a brand of gun--they're a type of gun. Expecting them to all be in spec like they came off one line just isn't realistic.
