Suppressors Anyone running a 45acp suppressor on a 9mm pistol?

Re: Anyone running a 45acp suppressor on a 9mm pistol?

it would be a poor idea, Most handguns require a booster. A .45 acp can has a stiffer spring so there will be cycling issues when used on the 9mm. not to mention finding a adapter.

ask Silencerco wether they think that the can will work on both pistold it will also be determined by the type of pistol being used like a 1911 or glock etc.

The 45 acp runs at a lower pressure and bigger projectile diameter but the 9mm runs at a lot higher pressure and a smaler projectile filling the larger holes in the baffels.also it will depend on the supression you require will you be using sub 9mm ammo? if not you are realy wasting time with the 9mm the 45 is a much better round to supress but if you can get one to do both why not and save some serious coin.

I actually prefer the 9mm with subsonic ammo over a 45 for suppressing. Granted, I'm using an AAC Evo 45 and not an Osprey so your mileage may vary. My Osprey should be approved any day now and then I will have a better perspective.

I have tested it and the numbers came out pretty good and plan on using a 45 can on 40S&W and 9mm. Waiting on the 45 can as the one I tested on was a loaner.

funny thing, at the silencershoot the first ospreys were there, one had the serial number and 45 cal on the bottom and one had serial number and 9mm marked on the bottom when asked about it the guys said they were using the same suppressor with smaller holes when they released the 9's.
