other than Rob01 (still jelly) who is looking forward to shooting the bullet or already has

just ordered 1K and gonna take to the Next FT-O match

Haven't been able to get any 147gr ELDMs to handload for my 6.5CM yet, but we just got back from CSAT where we shot the Hornady box ammo (#81501) and I was fairly impressed. Of 30 shots, SD was 15...Not too bad for box ammo. Avg 2738 out of a brand new 26" Brux, suppressed.

Back ordered on cabelas.

should be shipping in 1-3 weeks.

Rob01 has the inside scoop on them also. My plan is to find a hot load for these in my 260 Rem and see how they do against my 308 in an F class setting for accuracy.

I have 300 of them that I bought as soon as Midway got them in stock, I've been having such great luck with the 140gr that I haven't actually shot any of them. Not sure if I'm going to ever get to it, might just sell them.

Might take you up on them

i was told they can be pushed as hard as a 140
can minus 50ish FPS but you get a substantial gain in BC. We shall see. My goal is 2900+ without major pressure signs

The shoot great out of my AX at 2883 fps (26" 260 Rem.)

2.939" OAL (.015 off) - 42.8g of H4350 in Lapua brass - Federal 210's

I had them faster but the groups were a bit more open. Slowed them down 50 fps and they turned back into lasers.

I should get my AIAT 260 26" barrel today.
I'm going to do some load dev with those 147 ELD and IMR 4451.

I'm not sure I'd like to get that much of MV.

I'm thinking to start at 39 gr and go up to 41.5gr.
Does this seem reasonable?

Midway is showing the 147 ELD in stock now for anyone looking.

Brownells ($34.99) as well for a couple bucks higher than midways sale price (31.49) but free shipping so depending on quanities it could be a wash.
Midsouth has them too (32.46)

Nothing at brunos, bullets, natchez or powder valley yet.

I've been picking up boxes of these, three at a time, from my local Cabela's. I've figured out which day the truck comes in and stop by the next day. Store's only 3 miles away and this way I get to use my coupons that show up in the mail about every 2-3 weeks. :) :)

I sure do like these bullets and they don't seem to care much about wind at ranges under 300 yards.

Precision Reloading has them now too.. $31.99
I just finished load development with these in 6.5cm. Ended up with 42.5gr H4350/.015 jump out of Prime brass 2897fps, es 10 and sd 4.5. Took them out to 1010 and 1083 this weekend, really liking this boolit. Gonna work up some RE-16 next.

Here's some of my findings:

AI AT 6.5CM with Accurate Ordnance 18" barrel w/ suppressor, and factory loaded ammunition: Range conditions were 75*F, and roughly 6500 feet ASL.
  • Hornady 120gr AMAX: Average velocity at muzzle = 2748fps
  • Hornady 140gr ELD-M: Average velocity at muzzle = 2530fps
  • Hornady 147gr ELD-M: Average velocity at muzzle = 2510fps
  • Hornady American Gunner 140gr BTHP: Average velocity at muzzle = 2568fps
  • Prime 130gr OTM: Average velocity at muzzle = 2798fps
All the Hornady ammo groups very well out of this barrel - 0.3 to 0.5 MOA. The Prime ammo is still very fast out of this short barrel, but is only grouping about 1 to 1.5 MOA. The BC of the 120gr AMAX is low, and it performs worse than all the other bullets that I will not even include it here. The 140gr BTHP groups very well, and is inexpensive, and would be a great 500-800 yards practice cartridge, but the BC and velocity SD suffers at longer ranges, and for that reason I will also not include it in my comparisons.

For me, the 147gr is the slowest of the bunch, but the high BC really makes up for it at long range. At 1000 yards the 147gr has 0.1 less drop and 0.1 less drift (wind 10mph @ 90 deg) than the 140gr ELD. At 500 yards the drop and drift between 140gr & 147gr are identical. Prime 130gr OTM has almost 1.4 mils less drop at 1000 yards than the 147gr ELD-M, but the 147gr ELD-M still beats it with 0.1 mil less wind drift.

Using the Strelok Pro app I ran some numbers to get an indication of which one will stay above the transonic range the longest. Once again the 147gr ELD-M, while slowest, is still the winner. With the 1350fps threshold as my limiter:

Prime 130gr OTM: 1290 yards
Hornady 140gr ELD-M: 1270 yards
Hornady 147gr ELD-M: 1350 yards

The Prime ammo at nearly 2800fps sounds like the winner in terms of danger space, and increased room for ranging error, but in actuallity it gains me very little. Shooting at a 0.4 mil target at 1000 yards (14.4" target), I should theoretically be able to "miss" high or low by 0.2 mils - the 140gr ELD-M has a +-0.2 mil danger space of 25 yards, both the 130gr OTM & 147gr ELD-M have an identical +-0.2 mil danger space of 30 yards.

Ideally, I would be pushing the 147gr ELD-M at like 2900fps, but for a tactical/hunting style rifle I can't afford to have 28" barrel, and 9" suppressor hanging off that, so the 18" barrel is a decent compromise of length/weight/velocity.

I am using 41.5 H4350 in Lapua brass with the 147eld-m out to 1150yds. It’s running 2716 out of my 24” Howa barrel and shoots great. With the same load I get about 50fps faster with the 140 eldm but loose a little accuracy. The 147 are hammers in my Howa HCR.

I have been running the 147's for matches this season, 41.6 H4350 loaded .030 off the lands in Hornady brass = 2740 from my 25" Bartlein barrel with 1100 rounds through it. I had used a stouter load for my first match but as luck would have it, it rained all match long and I lost about 35 pieces of brass due to pressure from moisture on my cartridges. This lighter load is every bit as accurate just 60ish fps slower and I don't have the same pressure problems when I am playing in the rain...

6.5 Creedmoor, Hornady brass/42gr H4350/fed210/147 [email protected]. I really measure off ogive but don't remember that measurement. That puts me at .030" and .040" off lands in two of my 6.5 creedmoors.
Runs about 2785fps from a 28" barrel.
I'm at work and going by memory.
Get mine at midsouth shooters supply and powder valley when in stock

I use them out of my 6.5 x 55 Crusader, 24" barrel. One hole at 100 yards. I have not been able to take them farther, yet, but I will. Lapua brass, 45 gr RE 22.
