My dad has always been a big believer in him, his is one of the only books my dad has ever read as an adult. Me and my dad are working together again after going our separate ways 13 years ago. My dad has paid for me to go to the training course (12 weeks one 4 hour night a week).
Just curious if anyone has attended and what your thoughts were after the course. It sounds like it would be a good experience to me, having read some of his book I am somewhat familiar with him.

Yes that was a good one!! I bet he really excelled in the how to win friends and influence people section.

I enjoyed it. Among the things I felt most memorable were the emphasis on mneumonic devices to remember new acquaintances names without asking again and again...The tools employed to help people inhibited, or terrified, by public speaking, and the discussions of methods to really understand the perspective of those with whom you interact. It is often attended by business people, but its lessons apply to all walks of life.

Some of it is cornball but I bet you'll enjoy the experience and I don't even know you. Yet.

Take care.

The owner of the electronics firm I worked for years ago sent all of the sales people to it. All I remember was him(DC) telling everyone, repeatedly, never to say "okie dokey".
Of course that's all we ever used on the phone from then on.

I didn't know. It was the DC course and that's all I knew. If the speaker introduced himself, I don't/didn't remember his name. We were all three sheets to the wind at the time(1968).

Re: Anyone taken the Dale Carnigie course?

A very reasonable and justified explanation!

In my case it was some guy whose name I long ago forgot (ist's been almost 20 years!), though I believe the most memorable element of the class was name memorization...

So don't go thinking I consider myself an authority!
