Anyone try a 16" 223 barrel with a rifle lgth Gas tube
I am thinking of trying a 16" bbl with a rifle length gas tube, that will only be shot suppressed. I am quessing it will have enough dwell time. Anyone try this?
I've got a fleet of them. All unsuppressed. All awesome. Even have a rifle gas 14.8" and a rifle +1" 17". If your IQ is above room temperature you can easily get it to work perfect.
OK, great, I am still learning stuff about AR15's.
I have assembled a few and they shoot pretty good, and they work fine. I have added Adjustable GB's because they were over gassed. thought I would try a 16" the way I mentioned above. Does it make them smoother shooting? or other benefits?
Absolutely. Less parts wear and tear, easier on brass, pairs are closer together, less sight picture disturbance, faster sight reacquisition. All good things.
Put rounds through the Odin DMR, 16.3" with rifle gas Friday. First 150 rounds were suppressed, then once it was filthy, I ran another 100 or so through it without the can. No issues.
