Re: anyone use a schmidt and bender 12.5x50x56
I've never had one, but had the opportunity to look through one. They are on the same plane as the March BR 10-60x50 scope. The SFP is the model I would choose for target/f class work.
There is a review comparing the March and the S&B somewhere over on 6mmbr.com. I've linked it here before, but, frankly, I'm tired and just don't feel like looking for it again.
The high magnification is nice to have, when its useable. I don't need to explain the mirage problems that arise with high magnification scopes. Of the NF BR 12-42s I owned, rarely did I go over 25x unless the weather cooperates. But when the weather permitted, the extra magnification was nice.
Rumor has it that these will resolve a 6mm hole at 600 yards just like the March. I've tried to get one, as I was impressed with the one I looked through, but used ones are hard to find. Guys just don't part with them, which makes me think they are a decent optic to have.
EDIT:
BTW, if you get one and don't like it, shoot me a PM. I have a LR rig that I've wanted on for, just never had the patience to wait for one. A USO sits on it now.
