anyone use DRT TerminalShock™ .223 Rem FMHP 79gr ?

Re: anyone use DRT TerminalShock™ .223 Rem FMHP 79gr ?

That wouldn't be on my list of bullets for shooting paper at any range.
As far as factory goes:
Federal offers a 80 grain Sierra
Hornady a 75 grain BTHP
Lapua a 69 grain

The DRT 79s are good magazine-length bullets and I am glad to see their cost has dropped.

For 1,000-yard benchrest you really will be better served with a long and thin or Very Low Drag profile.

The Sierra 80 and the 75 A-Max are better and cheaper and I'd add Bergers. The Hornady 75 HPBT will probably make it to 1,000 pushed hard out of a bolt gun but it is better suited to magazine-feed to about 800.
