Hunting & Fishing Anyone used a GoPro on their rifle

Thinking about getting a GoPro to take on hunting trips. I saw Brownell's has a mount to attach the camera to a scope. Anyone used one of the GoPro cameras attached to your rifle? How did it work?

Yes I have used one on my ar quite a bit it works great, not sure I would want one mounted to my scope.

What kind of mount did you use?

I used one on my bow last year to record my hunts. I shot a doe at 15yds, in the video it looked like it was 50yds away. You could barely tell it was a deer I was shooting. Your better of getting a small camcorder with an optical zoom to mount. Just a little bigger and not enough heavier to notice, but the video is much better. There is a mount I found on eBay that goes from a rail to the threaded hole in the bottom of a camera. Works well.

If you skip to about 1:59 in this video you can see the mount I'm talking about. He is running a bigger camera than I would.

My experience is the same as 565fitter, except I had one on my rifle. I took a deer at just past 100 yds and it was nothing more than a speck, you would be better off using a smart phone than a gopro to record something at any distance.
