Anyone used Longshot powder for 45ACP?

Re: Anyone used Longshot powder for 45ACP?

I use it with 200 grain and 230 grain XTPs. I've generally had excellent results, I use the max loads listed and a good crimp. Accuracy has been very good. I havent shot them over a chronograph, but velocity does seem to be higher than anything else ive shot based on recoil and bullet expansion.

I use it 9mm and 45 acp.
It likes max velocities and you will exceed Hodgdons published data which seems very conservative. Chrono data won't match what Hodgdon lists so I would think they use a very tight test barrel for their listings.
I run 1000 fps with the 5 inch 45 using 200 grain jacketed and 1250fps with the 124 grain in 9mm with 4.25 inch barrel, both with no pressure signs, very smooth recoil, flat slide cycle, and very very good accuracy.
Still not pushing these as fast as the guys on the enos forum.

I've given up on HS7 after using this stuff.

I have been using longshot for awhile now..A little "smokey" but I have no problem with 230 grain Hornady HXP or my cast bullets.

I use it in 10mm with 180 golden sabers and fmj and .45 ACP with 200 XTPs and 230 fmj. I have great results with it and it meters well through the Dillon 550. Dropped a doe last deer season with a 180 golden saber from the 10mm at about 30 yards.
