just woundering if anyone is shooting the 220gr. or 240gr.
in a TRG-42 300WM.
i did not know if the 1-11 twist could handle the 220/240's

if so, what powder are you running? R-22 or H1000?
just looking for a place to start my load development.
i have been running the 190's and R-22.

thanks for your time.

Re: anyone used the 220gr. or 240gr. in a TRG-42 ?

I'm still wondering if the TRG 42 with 1:11 will stabilize the 208 A-max.

Running the data through an Sg program I get a stability factor of 1.11 for the A-max at 2900fps with a 1:11 twist. A factor of 1.4 or higher is suggested (although in theory it only has to be greater than 1.0).

I've heard reports that the TRG 42 300WM does good on the 208's. I guess I'm going to have to try it and see how it works out. Not heard any info on the 220/240.

Do a search online for a program to calculate stability, I'm sure there are plenty around.
