can't wait to finish my build, that said the recoil in my savage 110 FCP HS Precision in its "as purchased new" form is a real pleasure to shoot. That OEM brake on the savage must be pretty darn good. I was expecting it to kick like my 7 mag does, but it was nearly identical to my savage axis in 7.62x39. That said the rifle is now in a chassis and heavier, have yet to get glass on it. Still a current build but i'm really excited about it. Ammo cost in factory loading is being gouged just about everywhere. If you shop local mom and pop paces who price honestly, it can still be had for $56ish a box of hornady 225g match. Everywhere else though is getting close to $100 a box. This is going to be the chambering i learn how to reload on. Really looking forward to it. No idea how the recoil feels without the brake though. As it sits it's nothing that would ever induce recoil flinch if you are used to any .30 cal hunting rifle.
OEM is how it was fired, no optic, no bipod attached, in its lightest possible form. 10 rounds fired, barrel swabbed between each shot except for the last two shot. Should help with initial zero
second photo is its current state as of today.
I really like the specs on the 300PRC.
