I've only compared it to other NF, and it looks like an NXS with simpler controls. If you aren't going to use it as a hammer and capped MOA turrets suit your purposes, I'm not sure how you could go wrong.
The NF SHV are very good scopes and for the price it's hard to go wrong with them. I'm not an MOA shooter for the most part but I'm having a hard time resisting one. The turrets are capped, well marked, and positive. The glass is very good and the reticle MOAR is clean. We stock them all!
So far it's been a great seller for us with customers coming back to buy a second scope. If you're looking for Nightforce quality but simpler, the Nightforce SHV Hunting Scopes is the answer. Its really appealed to our hunting customers that hold over vs dial their adjustments.
Thanks guys. Also I was wondering about ring height with the 56mm objective. I wish I had some close optics dealers where I could go check one out myself.

If you are using a nf base, .886 to centerline would be the highest I would go. Feel free to contact us direct with any questions regarding Nightforce. We sell a few.
