So, I've been wanting to build a long range rifle for a while, (and I am a noob to long range shooting, so take it easy on me) and i have a remington 700 sps stainless in 7 rem mag. I was thinking of getting a bell and carlson a5, or sucking it up and getting a mcmillan a4-a5, or manners. Anyways since I'm from GA I figured I'd get APA to do my gunsmithing, and do a 26" mtu contour from rock creek, krieger, bartlein, or similar, muzzle brake, recoil lug, bolt knob, badger m5 (or wyatts if i choose b&c stock), action truing, and black cerakote on the metal. if i supply the parts does anyone know about how about much it goes for them to assemble and smith it?

Give Jered a call and he will tell you all you need to know. I have an APA 308 rifle and its a hammer. Excellent craftsmanship and great customer service. You will not go wrong with APA.

I definitely will give him a call, I was just wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head while im piling up parts to get started with. I also thought of Robert Gradous, but I think I read somewhere he doesnt like fooling with anything but custom actions.

APA will not be cheap. But they do excellent work.
Gradous, though I have not had any experience with him, I've heard is fantastic to deal with. Again, not inexpensive.
Also, you may want to look up Accurate Ordinance. They are located in Winder and run by some of the old guys from APA.

Stop by the shop and talk to guys at APA. I had them do a couple small jobs for me. Very impressed. They are top shelf and the finished product will be excellent. Cant say enough good about them.

I have a apa built 308. Looks like a regular rifle, but I only ever get one bullet hole on paper? LOL First time out I shot 8 shots that where " mostly " covered by my ear plug! you will be pleased.
