If you killed it with an APA/Patriot Arms build, let's see it.

Coyote @ 250yds with APA 16.5" .308.

Let me let me!!

Two of my friends just sent these in:
This one scored 208
photo-2.jpg

This one took a 265g Henson bullet from a 338 LM. It would appear that the had came right off.

This one was Roman's first deer with the new 308 APR we built him:

No clue what this guy scored yet.

bottom deer is going to come in at 212+/- I could see 15 scoreable points.

here's how
50" of main beams
32" of mass ( average of 4" per measurement)
22" Inside spread
13 tines at an average of 8.25"

=211.25 so I rounded up

Nice!

Re: APA "CIRCLING BUZZARD" Thread

Jered, who ever shot those two bucks tell them I say congrats. Thats a once in a life time deer if there free range animals.

Re: APA "CIRCLING BUZZARD" Thread

The two deer were shot by two different customers on two different ranches.
I haven't put much down this year other than two does for meat. I passed up two really good bucks because they were too young. I'm headed to south TX with some friends to cull some does and possibly a blackbuck that I won at the Hide cup from Singleshot85. That's still a little in the air because of my schedule. The big trip will be Africa in the spring.

Re: APA "CIRCLING BUZZARD" Thread

I have some pics from our annual hunt with Jered but I will let him post them when he is ready to. We always enjoy Jered coming down here to hunt and as always that Homo is fun to be around. I killed two decent bucks with his rifles a 10 point with the .284win (The Meat Stick) and a 12 point with the .338lapua. As always his rifles performed flawlessly and I witnessed some long range kills..

Re: APA "CIRCLING BUZZARD" Thread

That's "Precious". She's a 284 Win

Holland/McMillan stock
Broughton #3 barrel 24"
APA Genesis action
BDL
Jewel trigger
Swaro 1.8-10 Z6 scope

There was roughly 10 deer taken with Precious. The only deer to take a step was my wife's. She made a perfect 450 yard shot out of the truck window non the less. The doe spun around and ran 25 yards and piled up.

I pulled some stuff off with her that people would raise an eyebrow about.

Re: APA "CIRCLING BUZZARD" Thread

Nice pics Jered, looks like ya'll had a great trip!

Here's a crappy cell phone pic of another SCRUB. Funny thing is after making up 10 gallons of brunswick stew yesterday, nobody even asked how big the horns were. The only thing folks were asking for were seconds!

Re: APA "CIRCLING BUZZARD" Thread

I told Nolo not to shoot this one but he said screw Tom he was going to shoot whatever he wanted to.
This deer could have been a Rock star if Nolo would have let him wipe the milk off his lips and grow a little.

Thats funny assbag because they way I remember it was.. I was looking at the buck through the scope and you were yelling that if I did not shoot the deer you would shoot me!

Re: APA "CIRCLING BUZZARD" Thread

Veal,
Where is my stew?

Nolo,
Ok so maybe I did make the comment about shooting the little guy but that's just because he looked tasty.
grin.gif

Yes I did steal all the deer meat. I tried to give it all to you but your dumb ass bought a lunch box for a freezer and it wouldn't hold the 500 lbs. of meat that we had. Next time you tell me you need meat for the freezer maybe you'll think to tell someone that your freezer runs off of AA's and will fit in the back seat of your new Car.

Sounds and looks like a killer.

What kind of velocities are you getting out of the 24" as opposed to the 26" on your other .284 rig, with the 162 Amax? I've been thinking of a .284 hunting rig and just wondering about the optimum barrel length.
