My Grandfather(an Irishman, working to make $$ to buy land at home) was sheep farming in Australia and I remember his stories about them moving to the docks with sheep to load them on ships for export... the wounded from Gallipoli were offloaded and left on the docks waiting on medical assistance... rem talking WW1 here...the smells of blood, sheep, shit and death stayed with him..till the day he died...
