NAME: oneforall
MATCH: 100YB-TQ4
CLASS / SIGHTS: konuspro plus 6-24x50
CALIBER: .22LR
RIFLE: Russian Vostok CM-2
AMMO: Sk Lapua standard plus
Caldwell rock front, rear shoulder
Wind at 9-12 MPH R to L then back to front change to L to R
Temp 61 F
one wind flag at 15 yard
SCORE: 248 - 9X

I am running low on CCI SV 0032, and since the CCI does not tank in accuracy in the cold like some other cheap standard velocity ammo. I decided to save the CCI for colder days.
It is windy, and the wind never talked to me this time. There are times i thought i got control of the wind, then the results proved i was wrong. After sighters( 6 rounds or so), First 5 rounds on target all went low and left, but grouped less than a inch, so i had to adjust the scope both for high and right. Normally, i do not adjust the scope once i am shooting for score, but this time, i had no confidence in my shooting. The wind blow the target stand side ways some( the whole stand shakes left and right from the scope picture) and blow over the target paper once, so i had to walk down the range to set up again.
Shoot all 25 rounds at left of 10 ring line at 3:30'( i had to crank the scope a lot today to even get to the white line ), i felt aiming at the line produce more accurate shoots than aiming between the black area between the 10 ring and 9 ring.
2/3 of the time wind is from R to L at about 3'. I think i have harder time reading the wind if the wind is from R to L. Since the rifling is right hand, plus the wind is from the right, one get to comp more than if the wind is from the L. But i had hard time to master it this time out.
The one round on the 9 at 2 ' top right is round #24. I have a self imposed rule of shooting one target of 25 rounds plus sighters under 20 minutes. Because of the scope adjustments and i had to go back to the sighter paper to confirm, Also because i have decided to shoot under one wind direction only( too windy for my skill set to shoot at both wind directions, like I normally would do). I lost some time. By the 23rd round, i had less than one minute to go, but the wind was from my left and back. I thought it had changed back to R to L when i pulled the trigger, 10 MPH wind at wrong direction blow the round clear off target.

I think the lack of, price of, and conservation of ammo will impact participation over the next few months.
