I was wondering if anyone would think that there would be much of a desire or a market for a Armalite AR-10 in 7mm-08. My rifle has a ABS carbon barrel(Rock) and a ABS carbon float tube. The barrel is 21" and it was built for hunting. It is very accurate rifle and it is a joy to shoot. I just don't know if $1,800 would be fair, or if I even would want to sell the rifle. Any input would be appreciated. I know that the rifle could not be duplicated for that. Not posting this for sale, just wanting some input.

Thanks for the great web site and all of the info out there.

Thanks, Tom

Re: AR-10 7mm-08

The 7mm-08 in any AR-10 type rifle is an EXCELLENT combination...especially one with a carbon-wrapped barrel and handguard making it an excellent lightweight/portable rifle for hunting and long-range performance.

Pending pics, I'd say that it would be easily worth $1800 and possibly more. Hell, your basic off-the-shelf AR-10T will run you roughly $1600 new...upgrade that with an ABS barrel, carbon fiber handguard, etc. and you quickly get to more than an $1800 value (even in used condition, etc.).

Re: AR-10 7mm-08

I messed up and missed out on an Armalite 6.5x285 custom build with a 26" pipe, Tac Latch charging handle , 2 stage trigger, Around a 100 loaded rds, RCBS Match grade dies, about 100 cleaned brass,2 mags,JP Adjustable Gas Block all with less than 250 rounds though it...
COMPLETE RIFLE PACKAGE all for $1100
The 7mm-08 isn't really my cup-o-tea but I don't think it takes a rocket surgeon to figure why I've been kicking my own ass every day since it sold.

Re: AR-10 7mm-08

tom,

The easiest thing to do is get hold of a digital camera. Set it on auto, hold very still and shoot some pics of your rifle. Best to put in a well lit area with a solid color background. The color shouldn't be too dark or too light.

Once you have the pics, you'll need a USB chord. one end plugs into your camera, one into your computer. You can then download your pics onto your computer.

Then go to a hosting site. Some of them are:

www.tinypic.com

www.photobucket.com

Upload your photos (they give you a tab for that) then copy and paste the forum line into your post. They have them labeled so you'll know which one to use.

Re: AR-10 7mm-08

I have a remington r25 in 7-08 and i use it for hunting here in Italy so for the caliber i think this is more then needed for many animals, ballistic is very good and your rifle weight is also good.

Bye bye

Re: AR-10 7mm-08

I really like the caliber. I have 2 other bolt guns in it. One is a custom Kimber in 7mm-08 Improved with killer wood. I have yet to shoot it. A good friend (Gun Doc) built it for me. Eddie builds extreamly accurate rifles and he is a first class guy. Thanks for the input. Italy sounds interesting for hunting.
