Does anybody know where to get ar-10 stripped upper and lowers? I have looked at midway and brownells and either i dont know how to search or they dont have them. Thanks for any input.

Re: AR-10 Receiver?

Not millions like the AR15, and there is nowhere near the standardization. Lots of proprietary stuff that doesn't play well together.
Biggest difference is AR-10 pattern upp/lower vs LR308 (DPMS) pattern. They take different magazines, barrel nuts (and I believe barrel extensions), and the uppers and lowers from each don't fit interchange....

Re: AR-10 Receiver?

The list of 308 AR manufactures using the DPMS mag is big and getting bigger all the time. Here's a list, probably not complete, of those making complete rifles or uppers and lowers in the DPMS mag pattern:

KAC
DPMS
SI Defense
Fulton Armory
JD Machine Tech
Kaiser Works
Tactical Machining
JP Rifles
POF
Mega
LMT
LWRC
Seekins (soon to released I believe)
Oberland Arms
LaRue
Les Bauer
EDM Arms
Bushmaster
Remington (just a repainted DPMS)
RND
AXTS
Fidelis Arms
Iron Ridge Arms

If anyone want's to add or correct that list, feel free to do so.

Out of that list, many of those receivers have different shapes and specs and won't interchange with one another.

Best to do a lot of research and them most likely, you'll be purchasing from the manufacturer.

Re: AR-10 Receiver?

Check Rainier Arms.

Last I checked they carried both patterns. Noveske, POF, etc. etc.

When I first started building a .308 AR I went with the Armalite pattern because the components that were available were higher quality.

Now it seems that the industry is standardizing on the DPMS pattern. If I were going to build one from scratch again today I would probably go with a POF or Mega receiver set.
