Re: AR 10-T 260 Remington Ackley Improved

Take a look at the GAP-10. Guaranteed to be sub moa out of the box.

Did a 243AI on AR-10.

Knowing what I know now, wouldn't do it. Minimum body taper and 40 degree shoulder, release point from mag, etc.....took a whole lot of tweaking to get rifle running well.

If you want to go min body taper, sharper shoulder then get a 6.5 Creedmoor. Touch shorter, release point from mag is better match up.

Not sure what your reasoning is to go 260AI in gasser but straight 260 is much better fit to -10 then is the AI version.

I agree, that 40 degree shoulder could be a potential nightmare!

Straight 260, standard AR-10 mags.

260 AI, probably have to tweak on mags to get it to work.

I'm looking to build an AR10/MA-TEN in 6XC or 6.5x47 Lapua. I can make use of some of the longer higher BC bullets as these two cases are shorter than the 260. The 6XC with the 115 DTAC is meant to be a real long range performer. Does anyone have any experience of these two calibers in an AR?

I have an AR10 in 6MMX (predecessor to 6XC) on the way. Previous owner says it runs perfectly and is very accurate. Medesha did the gunsmithing on this one. Supposed to be short on boiler room for the 115s, but the 105 are no slouch in long range.

Should be good to go with the 115 DTACs. Tubbs says OAL for these is 2.747. AR10 mags are 2.800, which leaves lots of room to play with. Why did you choose the MMX over the XC?
