Suppressors AR-15 hammer notched ore not difference ??

I'm buying some replacement AR1-15 hammers and mine is notched but I've noticed some aren't ...?
Why and what's the differnce

There are many types of AR-15 hammers, so post a photo of the two you have so we can answer correctly.

Most likely if your talking about the very top rear, the difference is AR-15 vs M16. The notch is where the auto sear ingages the hammer to hold it, until the bolt carrier trips the sear.

No it's not a m16 hammer I'm talking about the notch that's right above where the hammer hits the fire pin

Couldn't tell you why one is notched and the other isn't but I do know that if you buy a Tac-Sol dedicated .22 AR upper they recommend that you use an un-notched hammer.

I believe it is kind of a built in safety to prevent slam fires. The notch catches on the firing pin and locks it up. That is if I am correct lol.
