AR 15 kits

Time to build up a rifle on the stripped lower in the safe. Looking for a std 5.56 mid-length upper with lower parts kit. Any of the budget kits to avoid? Any stand out in a good way?

The palmetto state armory stuff is really good for the money. I've had good results from their stuff and the quality is comparable to more expensive parts.

I have had mixed results with PSA. I've had pins out of spec that wouldn't fit (receiver was right...pins were too big). I also have a stock tube that the anodizing is horrible on. Very inconsistent. Just remember that when you buy the cheapest thing out there that corners are cut somewhere.

I had a miserable time with PSA. First sent the wrong trigger guard and grip without a cap with my LPK. Then wouldn't send me the right stuff until I sent them the trigger guard back.

I just put a JP kit into a SH JD Machine lower, and that was a pain in the ass. Scratched the shit out of the lower getting the mag catch pin in. Granted I didn't have the exact right punch for it, but I've put together several other lowers in the same fashion and never had an issue with those (DD and Spikes LPKs). I would go for one of those, you get what you pay for with LPKs.
